Q: How long has the center been in business?

A: Bullfrogs and Butterflies Child Care Center has been in business for 15 years. We were previously located in Fallston. We moved to our current location in 2009.

Q: Is your center Licensed through the state?

A: Yes we are licensed through the state, Certified through the Keystone Stars program as a STAR 4 facility and we have a certificate of compliance through the Department of Human Services good through 2018 which can be viewed at

Q: What are your hours?
A: Our New Brighton Center has Flexible hours to accommodate the varying needs of our families. We open at 6:00 am and close at 6:00 pm Monday through Friday.

Q: How flexible are Drop-off/Pick-up times, are there late pick-up fees?
A: We understand many of our families work varying shifts. This requires drop-off and pick up times to be flexible, HOWEVER, these schedules must be given to the office so staffing requirements can be met and the needs of your child/children can be accommodated. If you will be late picking your child up, we do need notified as staff are scheduled according to children's schedules. If your child's day exceeds 10 hours a fee of $10 per child per day will be assessed and added to your weekly billing.
Q: Do you offer any Discounts?

A: YES, we offer multi-child discounts for full time students. We also accept funding through CCIS. CCIS stands for Child Care Information Services, funds are available to help families at or below the Poverty Level pay for childcare while they work. ​Q: Do I owe if my child is sick or if we are on vacation?

A: Your tuition or co-payment is to ensure your child's enrollment placement at the facility. That means that yes, you pay your agreed upon amount regardless of daily attendance. However, we do give a one week waiver for a vacation once a year for the co-payment or tuition. We would appreciate it if you would let us know in advance of any planned vacations so we can adjust our schedules accordingly. Also, should your child be sick and need to stay home we would appreciate a call letting us know they are sick and will not be in.



Q:How/When are we billed for services? When are we expected to pay?

A: Billing for services are done on Mondays and payments for the previous week are also done on Mondays . We expect families to pay for services the week before or the week of services.

Q: What are parents responsible to supply?
A: Diapers, wipes, diaper cream, special formula, all medications, and changes of clothes are the responsibility of the parents.

Q: How do you communicate, daily/weekly/monthly? Are there conferences?
​
A: Children receive "Daily Sheets" when they leave each day with the activities they participated in, meals , diaper changes/pottying for younger children and other important information. Conferences for Parents/Director or Parent/Teacher are scheduled 2-3 times yearly , sign-up sheets will be made available at least 2 weeks in advance to first conference date. Additional Parent Conferences can be arranged anytime with the Director and your child's teachers if necessary.

Q: What is your nap schedule?
​
A: Our nap time runs from 1pm to 3pm daily, however younger rooms may begin nap earlier and older children may begin nap later depending on their lunch. 1-2 year old rooms are usually down between 12 and 12:30 and up between 2:30 and 3. The 2-3 year old children usually are down between 1 and 1:30 and up between 3 and 3:30. The 4-5 year old children are usually down by 1:30 to 2 and up by 3:30. Children are allowed to sleep and are given their own mats which are labeled for them, Blankets and pillows are provided and washed regularly. Families may choose to send blankets/pillows/stuffed animal to sleep with from home if they choose to.

Q: May I bring my child to tour the facility before enrolling at BBCCC?

A: Yes, our enrollment policy requires a face-to-face interview with parent and children before enrollment. Paperwork is given that needs to be filled out before enrollment and $30 registration is required by the first day. Give us a call to schedule your walk through of our facility.

​Q: What ages are together? Are there
separate classrooms?

A: Classrooms are separated by age, we have two infant rooms, one 1 to 2 year old classroom, three 2-3 year old classrooms, two 3-4 year old classrooms, one Pre-K classroom and a school aged child classroom. Children are separated by age groups in order to keep learning age appropriate and engaging. In the late afternoons as children begin to go home we move younger children into classrooms with mixed age groups, as long as ratios and staff allow for the changes.

Q: What Screening does staff undergo before hiring? Are staff safety trained? CPR? Pediatric First Aid?

A:Our staff are required to have PA Police background check, FBI Fingerprinting and Child Abuse Clearances befores beginning a position at BBCCC. Within the first year staff undergo Pediatric First aid and CPR training. All staff are trained for safety procedures including monthly fire drills and evacuation plans in case of emergency at our center.

Q: What can my child expect to do while in your care?

A: Our facility strives to provide a well-rounded Christian based curriculum that includes multiple play opportunities indoors and outdoors, Literacy activities, Art , Music, Science and Math. We use creative curriculum in conjunction with age appropriate materials and toys to create an atmosphere that supports learning and engagement of all students within our facility.

Q: Are Meals Provided?

​A: Meals are provided as well as snacks for all enrolled children in our program regardless of how you pay for services (CCIS, Private Pay, Partial Pay, ETC.)
